I find the wording here really interesting, especially given the dedication date.<\/p>\n
In Novi Sad I spent a long time talking with a Serb who’d grown up in Bosnia. When I told him I’d been to Srebrenica he gave a quick glance around the restaurant and told me I wanted to be careful talking about Srebrenica in Serbia. He made a point of dismissing the figure of eight thousand. Three or four thousand, now that he thought likely, but eight thousand dead was obviously propaganda.<\/p>\n
